People Hiding
Adam and Eve were given everything. They had access to God himself. They were the closest of friends. Then entered a snake, an apple tree, and a curse. Soon they found themselves outside the garden. Clothing provided by God - taken from an animal that gave its life to cover their sin and shame. How did they get there so fast? One day presence and praise - the next, fuzzy animal skins covering their shame.
God never intended the separation. When sin becomes too much, we hide from His presence. We wither outside the garden He intends for us. This is the sheltering of the church - warm fellowship. Maybe it's the family we walk or run away from. You see, the sin didn't stop there. Like a weed, it visited Cain and took the life of Abel. It's the same shame and sin that touched every saint of old except the Second Adam. There the curse was broken. The Serpent was crushed. But even to this day, Adam and Eve - you and I hide in the shadows. Where is God? Maybe we will make our own.
Death visited mankind that day. He is still at home - a squatter in a new garden called life.
Maybe you are withdrawing from life - parents - church - others. This site is for those who are running away inside as well as for those who have retreated to the depths of addiction, porn, solitude, and despair.
There's a God who is calling—just as He called Adam so many years ago. "Adam, where are you?" Yes, He desires a relationship with you. He wants to restore what sin has stolen. And He can. He's offering you another apple from the tree of life: His Son, Jesus. He's offering sanity, deliverance from the darkness that has claimed you, the solitude. He loves you and is calling your name.
