Let's Do Church!
Updated: Jul 1

Let’s do church! Jesus did church. He had a band of just a few men. He poured his life into them. He showed them love to its fullest extent, not just in his death, but in his living. We stand amazed at his lack of money and his lifestyle choice. Think of the wealth he could have had. But when offered this wealth, he declined. He rebuked the Devil. He turned away money, prestige, power, and status. He turned away everything most of us desire and work for. He laid his life in the Father's hands and thrived on the Father’s love, understanding, and acceptance. His relationship with the Father was everything. He poured that relationship into his disciples.
Does this sound like today’s church? Do we pour ourselves into others all the while staying in tune with the Father? Do we pour ourselves into our building projects, fundraisers, and other projects, or into people?
I want to do church. I just want to do Jesus’ church.
Does this resemble the modern church? Are we investing in others while remaining connected with the Father? Do we focus on our building projects, fundraisers, and other initiatives, or do we focus on people?
I want to be part of the church. I just want to be part of Jesus' church.
